Actress, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, has said suffering is not something Nigerians should brag about.
Jalade-Ekeinde, who has been living in the United States of America for the past two years, added that Nigerians were too intelligent to be going through such suffering.
She wrote on Instagram, “After living in the US for about two years, I have now seen that many things we managed and let slide is just pure craziness.
“I am deeply frustrated at the depth of the needless suffering Nigerians go through. We are too intelligent a people to suffer like this. Suffering is not a lesson to brag about. It is evil. Why must people suffer to get anything done? Why?”
Meanwhile, her statement has continued to generate reactions from many people online.
A Twitter user, Oz Okegebe, wrote, “That is the sad reality in our country. We are suffering but unfortunately, we continue to recycle the very elements that have kept us in this vicious circle. It is our duty to change the situation, come February 2023.”
Another tweep, Yomi Ajiboye, wrote, “There is a serious and genuine wave of change looming. Even the world is watching and waiting. We have to ensure we do what is right; not only complain. We need to play our roles as citizens. Many have been complaining; but today, we know the path they took due to selfishness.”
In a similar vein, one Osamuyi Okpame, added, “Right now, we are stressing and suffering to get new naira notes. If Nigeria does not kill us, nothing else will.”
