Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano State in Abuja denied declaring war against the Emir of Kano, His Highness, Muhammed Sanusi II with the creation of additional emirates in the state; noting that the action was taken to settle personal scores with anyone.
The governor rather said that the new emirates were created to make the traditional institution in the state more effective in the administration of the local population.

Governor Ganduje, therefore, affirmed his respect for the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II.
The governor acknowledged that the traditional ruler is answerable to the Local Government Chairman as prescribed by the Constitution.
The governor refuted the reports that the creation of new emirates has rubbished hundreds of years of tradition in the state.
