The Ogun State Police Command disclosed on Wednesday that the command arrested an inmate of the Medium Security Correctional Centre, Kuje, Abuja, when the ISWAP invaded the prions premises and freed several inmates, including Boko Haram members.
The Police Public Relations Officer of the Ogun State Command, Abimbola Oyeyemi, in a statement in Abeokuta, on Wednesday, identified the rearrested Kuje prisons inmate as Yakubu Abdul Mumuni, 28 years old. According to the PPRO, “Upon the information, the Divisional Police Officer, Sango Ota Division, Superintendent of Police Saleh Dahiru, quickly mobilised his men and moved to the area where the convict was apprehended.
“He stated further that he was convicted by the Kogi State High Court for the offence of Conspiracy and Culpable Homicide and sent to Kuje correctional centre.”
The Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, Lanre Bankole, was said to have ordered the State Criminal Investigation Department to coordinate the immediate transfer of the convict to the Kuje correctional centre.
