The Federal Government has revealed that an alliance of bandits and Boko Haram forces is responsible for continued terrorist activities in the country’s northern regions, including the recent attack on the AbujaKaduna train.

Bashir Magashi, the Minister of Defense, and Lai Mohammed, the Minister of Information and Culture, made the announcement while briefing a State House correspondent after the week’s virtual Federal Executive Council, FEC, meeting.

Despite the fact that security authorities are still working hard to identify the organization responsible for the attack, a preliminary study revealed that criminal groups were cooperating, according to the Ministers.

“Honestly, I believe the security chiefs are working hard to expose those who are involved, and we will inform you very soon who is carrying out these attacks,” Mr Magashi said.

“We will come and explain to the public what is really going on in both Jos and Kaduna, as well as our efforts to guarantee that all of these activities are put to an end once and for all,” he said.

“We have a good handle on the problem, we’re working hard on a plan, and we’ll get it out as quickly as feasible.”

“What is occurring now is that there is a kind of unholy handshake between robbers and Boko Haram fighters,” Mr Mohammed continued.

“Preliminary accounts of what happened at the Kaduna train attacks reveal that the bandits and the evicted Boko Haram militants from the northeast are working together.” I can tell you with absolute certainty that the federal government is on top of this.”
