A few days ago, Patoranking announced that he will be dropping his highly-anticipated sophomore album, Wilmer, later on this month.
Still buzzing from the exciting news of this imminent release, Patoranking has decided to give his fans another taste of what to expect from the forthcoming album, dropping “Lenge Lenge” and its swanky accompanying music video.
On the track, Patoranking beckons a girl to come over, assuring her that with his kisses come pleasure, both carnal and emotional. Impressed by women’s beauty, especially their curves, Patoranking convokes a varied team of women for his “Lenge Lenge” music video.
Directed by Luke Biggins and Rebekah B Creative, the models in the accompanying “Lenge Lenge” clip — outfitted in extravagant pieces and made-up with tribal paint — help realise the exuberant singer’s Kalakuta imaginations, with him playing Fela Kuti, of course.
As well as the music video’s overt Fela references, DJ Coublon, the song’s gifted producer, does a great job of peppering “Lenge Lenge” with afrobeat touches, particularly on the song’s rift, which includes the signature two-tone brass that sparks up the already captivating beat.
