British-Nigerian rapper, Skepta has successfully wormed his way into the hearts of Nigerian music fans, thanks to his easy camaraderie with Wizkid — a relationship they crowned with their fantastic 2018 hit, “Energy (Stay Far Away)”.
Back in 2016, Skepta released his fourth studio album, Konnichiwa, which was met with massive acclaim from both critics and fans alike. Now, he’s announced his fifth studio album, Ignorance Is Bliss, and we’re understandably excited.
Skepta has played a key role in the attention the Nigerian music industry is currently receiving, and he doesn’t shy away from how much he loves his motherland. In the last two years, he has grown a sturdy fanbase here, collaborating with the likes of Olamide and DRB.
We’re not sure what to expect from his upcoming album, however, we wouldn’t be surprised to see a bunch of our local faves on it, particularly another Wizkid collab. Skepta is a brilliant songwriter and producer, so we have complete faith in the quality of work we’re about to get.
The album is set for release for May 31, and you can preorder right here.
