After years and years of begging, Marvel is finally giving fans (and Scarlett Johansson) a standalone Black Widow movie. Even better? British-Nigerian actor, O-T Fagbenle (The Handmaid’s Tale) is set to star in the movie, playing a lead role opposite Johansson.

Fagbenle’s character details are unclear for now, as the movie’s plot is still mostly unknown. We, however, know that the movie will center on the origin story of Johansson’s KGB spy assassin, Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow, who was first introduced in Iron Man 2.
As Johannson and Fagbenle will be joined by award-winning actors, David Harbour (Stranger Things), Rachel Weisz (The Favourite) and Florence Pugh (The Commuter), Black Widow seems set to be the standalone Marvel movie with the most impressive cast.
Black Widow will begin filming in June in London. We’re guessing that it will probably premiere in either May or November of next year — since Marvel is yet to announce any movies for those two slots — and we honestly can’t wait.
