Alex Iwobi played for 61 minutes before been subbed off for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in Arsenal’s 2-0 home win over Newcastle United, Completesports.com reports.
The game was Iwobi’s 18th start of the season despite going five games without a goal.
Aaron Ramsey and Alexandre Lacazette were on target for Arsenal who made it ten straight home wins for the Gunners, equaling a record set during their best run since a similar sequence from December 1997 to May 1998.
The win also sends Arsenal into third position – two points ahead of Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United with seven games left to play.
Ramsey thought he had given Arsenal the lead in the 12th minute, but saw his back post tap in ruled out after Sokratis was penalised for a foul on Florian Lejeune.
The Welsh forward scored on the half hour after having an earlier effort ruled out.
And Lacazette eased Arsenal’s nerves with a late second to bump United out of the top four.
Arsenal are next in action with a Premier League away game at Everton on Sunday, before a home match against Napoli in the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final match on 11 April.
Newcastle entertain Crystal Palace on 6 April, and then face Leicester away from home on 12 April.By Johnny Edward
