Music entrepreneur and record label CEO, Motunrayo Anikulapo-Kuti, is of the opinion that most artistes in Nigeria are trash..
Motunrayo, who is the daughter of late afro-beat maestro, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti in an interview with Showtime said any artiste asides 9ice, Burna Boy and Wizkid, are just craps.
In her words:-
“Of all the artistes in Nigeria, I’m closer to 9ice. All the others are too proud; they usually look down on people and if you look down on me I’ll feel pity for you and also look down on you.
I don’t respect people who look down on me. But I still intend working with a few other artistes who would probably not look down on me.” Motunrayo added saying any artiste beside 9ice, Burna Boy and Wizkid, all make crappy music.
“If I’m to describe the kind of music we hear today, judging by the kind of music I grew up listening to, I’ll pick the likes of 9ice, Burna Boy and Wizkid because I’ve very limited A’list artistes that I like.
On why she launched a record label in 2018.
“Floating a record label is because of my daughter, Ifeniola, from where I coined the name of the label, Ifeniomous Entertainment. I want to build a platform for her future. And of course, I think I can manage a record label very well because I’m very good with music; with my background in music as well”, she noted.
