Pastor Sam Adeyemi of Daystar Christian Centre and Nigerian music legend, Tuface, have both reacted to a suit filed against them at the Federal High Court in Abuja over their alleged involvement in the #EndSARS protests.
KanyiDaily had reported how a human right activist, Kenechukwu Okeke, had filed a criminal proceedings against 50 persons including Pastor Adeyemi and Tuface for “promoting” the #EndSARS protests.
In the suit, Okeke alleged that during the demostration, his properties were destroyed and the defendants who promoted the #EndSARS protests must be brought to justice.
According to him, the 50 defendants acted in a manner “with intent to assist in the promotion of an unlawful assembly under the guise or composition of #EndSARS”.
Okeke added that the actions of the defendants contravened Section 97 (2) of the Penal Code Act, C53 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2001.
However, in a swift reaction on his Twitter page, Pastor Adeyemi tweeted: “Who sent this guy to file this frivolous lawsuit?”

Also, Tuface in a statement issued by his manager, Efe Omorogbe, described the suit as a mere social media trend. He added that they cannot respond to the charge until they receive a summon.
“There’s no comment yet. We have not been served any paper. We have not received any formal summon,” Omorogbe said.
“We can’t respond to what is merely trending on social media until we receive a summon we can’t respond.”
