The Nigerian Army on Tuesday night embarked on live gun shots at unarmed #EndSARS peaceful protesters at the Lekki toll gate, Lagos. The Lagos State Government was said to have ordered the dismantling of the CCTV cameras installed at the toll gate for security surveillance of the state on that axis, thereafter, the light was put out. The protesting youths, however, insisted on sustaining their peaceful protest of police brutality, extra-judicial killings and demand for police reforms.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State had at mid-day on Tuesday proclaimed a 24-hours curfew in Lagos State after hoodlums who are not part of the protest went on rampage burning some police stations in the state.
Between 8.15pm and 9.30pm, several parts of Lagos State were thrown into bloodbath by the Nigerian Army deployed by the Chiedf of Army Staff, Lt. General Tukur Buratai, on military exercise of “Operation Crocodile Smile.” From Lekki toll gate to Mushin, Abule Egba, Ketu, Ikorodu, and others, it was a festival of gunfire by the Nigerian Army. While many were killed, several others were injured in the military operations.
Mothers are mourning, fathers are mourning, sisters and brothers are weeping for their lost affine in the military onslaught.
