With “Fall” steadily rising on the Billboard charts, Davido is becoming an increasingly in-demand global artist.
His latest bout of international recognition comes with his selection as one of the leading acts for the 12th annual Roots Picnic — an r&b and hip-hop music festival put together by the acclaimed American hip-hop band, The Roots.
For the 20th anniversary of their iconic album, Things Fall Apart, The Roots will be performing the entirety of the Grammy-nominated project. Additionally, they will be followed by an exciting lineup, including City Girls, H.E.R, 21 Savage and Nigeria‘s very own, Davido.
2017 was the year of Davido’s career renaissance, but he is still reaping the rewards of that year’s unprecedented winning streak. As “Fall” escalates up the Billboard rankings — the monster hit has moved up four places since last week — so does his fame and acclaim abroad.
Although it surprises even Davido that “Fall” is the song to fully propel him into American mainstream channels, it’s amazing to watch him rise. Hopefully, we will see him conquer yet another music industry, especially with the “big ‘Fall’ remix” he promised set to drop soon.
