Sports Minister Commiserates With Family Of Late Weightlifting President, Muhammed

The Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Mr Sunday Dare has commiserated with the family of the late President of the Nigeria Weightlifting Federation, Mr Yahaya Muhammed (pictured above) who died on Saturday in Kano.

Until his death, Muhammed was also the Special Assistant to Jigawa State Governor, Muhammad Badaru, on House of Assembly matters.

The Youth and Sports Minister noted that the sterling leadership provided for the federation by Muhammed in his lifetime would be greatly missed by the wrestling federation and the sporting industry in Nigeria at large.

He prayed God for the repose of the soul of the late Wrestling Federation President and the fortitude for his family to bear the loss.

Auwal Sankara – the media assistant to Jigawa State Governor confirmed the passing of Yahaya Muhammed on Saturday afternoon.

“The Jigawa State Government regrets to announce the Passage of Hon. Yahaya Muhammed (Big Man), who died this afternoon at Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital after a protracted illness,” Sankara said in a statement.
