Ighalo Eager To See Pogba And Fernandes Play Together For Man United

Odion Ighalo says he can’t wait for Paul Pogba’s return to Manchester United action, and he thinks that the Frenchman will transform the club’s midfield.

Injury-hit Pogba has only played eight times for United this season, with only two of those games coming since September.

His absence has meant that he is yet to take to the field alongside January signing Bruno Fernandes, and Ighalo thinks that the pair will strike up a formidable partnership once they do eventually play together.

“He is working hard to get back to fitness and imagine when we have Pogba and Bruno in the midfield, then you will see a different team – (Marcus) Rashford coming back also,” Ighalo told journalist Juliet Bawuah.

“Manchester United is going to be great again, winning games week in, week out. He’s a great player and it’s going to be a privilege to play with him.”

With the season currently on hold, Ighalo’s current loan deal at United is likely to have to stretch into the summer, and he says while he’s hopeful that he can earn a permanent deal at the club after that, everything remains on hold while the game is in lockdown.

“You know I have a loan deal until the end of the season,” he said.

Now it is for us to finish the season well, for me to do well and score goals.
