Super Eagles forward Gift Orban has debunked reports circulating in the media that he celebrated Auxurre’s Sinaly Diamonde goal against Lyon in Ligue 1.
Recall that Diamonde, a former Lyon player, netted a goal and an assist in Auxurre’s 2-2 draw against the host.

After receiving backlash from fans, the Nigerian international, via his Instagram handle, tendered his apology and noted that he had not realized the goal and assist were against his own team.
“Excuse me OL fans, it was a mistake. I made this comment just to encourage my friend.
“I didn’t even realise it was from our match; who would wish for his own team to lose? We work hard each day to win matches and trophies. For OL, I am sorry – thank you.”
