A stoppage time goal by Brahim Diaz earned Atlas Lions of Morocco a 1-0 win against Lesotho in Group B, matchday 2 of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations on Monday.
It is now back-to-back defeats for Lesotho in the AFCON qualifiers, after falling 3-1 away to Central African Republic.
The game which was played in Agadir, Morocco with Lesotho being the home team, saw Diaz score in the 93rd minute.
Morocco, hosts of the 2025 AFCON, have won their opening two games and top Group B.
Central African Republic are second in the group with three points while Gabon and Lesotho are third and fourth respectively with no point.
Central African Republic and Gabon will meet on Tuesday in their second game in the group.
Lesotho are in the same group with Nigeria’s Super Eagles in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
On matchday 1 of the World Cup qualifiers, Lesotho held the Eagles to a surprise 1-1 draw in Uyo.
After four games in Group C, Lesotho are in fourth place on five points, having recorded one win, two draws and one defeat.
The Eagles are fifth on three points after drawing three and losing one of their four games.
