Canada women’s national team head coach, Bev Priestman has reacted to the draw which pitted her side in the same group with the Super Falcons of Nigeria for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
The draw ceremony was held at the Tâmaki Makaurau, Auckland on Saturday.
The Olympic champions and the Super Falcons were drawn in Group B alongside co-hosts Australia and Republic of Ireland.
The Canadians will confront Nigeria in their first game in the competition at the Melbourne Rectangular Stadium on July 21, 2023.

Priestman confessed that the Super Falcons will be a tough nut to crack for her side.
“They are not an easy team to play, out of that pot, they are probably the team you didn’t want,”Priestman said after the draw ceremony.
“I won’t be underestimating them. However, experience is on our side and well use that”, she said.
The Falcons were on tour of Canada six months ago, where they played two matches against the North Americans , losing one narrowly and drawing the other.
