Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye was on the bench as Sparta Rotterdam lost 1-0 at home to 10-man Ajax, in their first game of the season, Completesports.com reports.
Okoye, 21, joined Rotterdam from German club Fortuna Düsseldorf in July in this summer’s transfer window.

Ajax suffered a huge setback when they were reduced to 10 men after Nicolas Tagliafico was shown a straight red card on 27 minutes.
Despite playing a man down it was Ajax who took the lead in the 38th minute through Antony.
The win took Ajax to sixth in the table while Rotterdam are now 13th.
