Former Belgium star Luc Nilis believes Cyriel Dessers is a better option to Christain Benteke and Michy Batshuayi and insists that the Genk forward should be playing for the Red Devils.
Dessers, 24, was born in Leuven to a Belgian father and qualifies for Nigeria through his mother.
The former FC Utrecht star was invited for Nigeria’s 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying double header against Sierra Leone in March but the matches were called off as result of the outbreak of the Covid-19.

Belgium national team manager Roberto Martinez could now take advantage of the situation and hand invitation to Dessers for their games in September.
Nilis however believes it will be the right thing to do following the striker’s impressive pre-season form for Genk.
“I would always take you (Dessers) there (Belgium national team), with all due respect to Benteke and Batshuayi, but you are more number nine than them,” Nilis told Het Belang van Limburg.
“If you score (for new club Genk), the national team coach cannot look beyond you, Cyriel.”
