Come September 10, the Super Eagles will play a friendly game against Ukraine in the country’s capital city. Ahead of the clash, the Nigeria Football Federation has called up 23 players who will make up the squad, and we couldn’t help but notice two brand new names on the list.

Out of curiosity, we at Konbini have profiled the two new players:

Joe Aribo

23-year-old Joe Aribo currently plays for Rangers, a Scottish Professional Football League club he joined this year. Although he was born in England, he has never made an international appearance. So, the upcoming friendly will be the first time he gets to play on a national team.

Maduka Okoye

Even before the 2019 AFCON, it was clear the Super Eagles had a serious goalkeeping problem. Well, 19-year-old Maduka Okoye,  who currently plays for Fortuna Düsseldorf II in the German fourth division, the Regionalliga West, might just be the answer to that issue.
