Since joining Villarreal’s senior team last year, Samuel Chukwueze has been making big moves. The La Liga star has taken yet another big step in his career by signing to Roc Nation Sports Agency, which is owned by hip-hop icon and business mogul, Jay-Z.
Roc Nation made the announcement yesterday, welcoming Chukwueze to the agency, which represents stars like Romelu Lukaku, Eric Bailly and Jerome Boateng. This impressive move also makes the fast-rising 20-year-old the first Nigerian player to sign to the agency.
Chukwueze certainly deserves this milestone, following his performance last season. He’s been ranked as Africa’s most valuable under-20 player, and he went on to reaffirm his reputation at the 2019 AFCON, where he became the youngest scorer in the competition.
As if all of that wasn’t enough, UEFA recently named him one of the 50 stars to look out for in the upcoming season. According to the association, he’ll become a familiar name by 2020, considering the fact that he is “a precocious winger with UEFA Europa League experience”.
We can only brace ourselves as he gets ready to wow us once the 2019-20 season starts.
