The 2019 Women’s World Cup is proving to be a real nail-biter. In the latest exciting twist, out of the three African countries that qualified, Nigeria and Cameroon have made it into the round of 16 – making it the first time two African teams have reached this stage.

The Super Falcons lost 1-0 to France in their last group game. The loss meant that Nigeria had to wait for the results from the Chile vs Thailand match to know if the team would go through to the knockout stage or not. Thankfully, the match played out in Nigeria’s favour.
On the other hand, Cameroon faced New Zealand in a game that came with its own share of surprises. The Indomitable Lionesses snatched a spot in the knockout stage with a miraculous 2-1 win that came just in the injury time.
What this means is that Nigeria will now take on Germany next, while Cameroon will go up against England. It’s not going to be easy, but we’re rooting for the African countries , especially Nigeria, to make it to the quarterfinals.
A MIRACLE FOR CAMEROON!
