
With the 2018-19 Premier League season over, Liverpool is set to host its annual end-of-the-season award dinner. This year, Nigeria will be very much represented, as Rinsola Babajide has been nominated for Liverpool Women’s ‘Player of the Year‘ award.
A former Watford Ladies player, the proficient Babajide became a sensation in 2016 after she scored 14 goals for the University of East London women’s football team in an amateur game which ended an unbelievable 40-0.
Since joining Liverpool Women in 2018, she has made 21 appearances, but the highlight of her career came a month ago, when she scored her first-ever hattrick in a match – earning her a nomination for Liverpool’s April ‘Goal of the Month’ award, which she lost to Mohamed Salah.
