Since Anthony Joshua’s next fight was confirmed for June 1, we’ve all been looking forward to it – especially because it’ll mark his first fight outside the UK. Now, with less than two months to go, his opponent, Jarrell Miller has reportedly failed a drug test, casting serious doubts on the big day.

According to TalkSport, on March 20, Miller underwent a Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA) test, and this morning, it was announced that he tested positive for GW1516 — a banned substance that boosts muscle growth.
Although it’s expected that the American will request that his B sample is tested, this isn’t the first time he’s making the news for a failed test. In 2014, he tested positive for a stimulant called Methylhexanamine, and was suspended for nine months.
If his B sample also tests positive, the New York State Athletic Commission will rule on the matter. While we await the outcome, Joshua’s team has already come up with a shortlist of five boxers who could potentially replace Miller on June 1.
