Since 2002, Yale University has been running its World Fellows Program, which brings together global leaders and changemakers from all walks of life. The University just announced the program’s class of 2019, and Nigerian Olympian, Simidele Adeagbo made the cut.
In 2018, Adeagbo made history as the first Nigerian Winter Olympian and the first black woman to compete in skeleton at the Olympics. Following a spectacular show at the event, she started holding masterclasses to build leadership skills and uplift girls through the power of sport.c
This is not forgetting that she has led innovative marketing campaigns at Nike for over 15 years. These experiences have formed her into a trailblazing advocate and entrepreneur, and now she’s getting the much-deserved recognition through the fellowship program.
Within the four months she will spend at Yale’s Jackson Institute for Global Affairs, Adeagbo will receive coaching and skills development training. She will also work on a project, conduct independent research and get a chance to mentor students at the University.
