Wizkid’s performance tickets went on sale earlier in the day and sold out in 12 minutes.
The crooner of “Essence” confirmed this in a Twitter post.
As a result, some fans mocked self-proclaimed African Giant, Burna Boy, whose show at the O2 Arena on August 27th has failed to sell out.
Some fans resorted to social media to debate who is the most popular artist, Wizkid or Burna Boy.
Others derided Burna Boy for claiming to be the “African Giant” despite his inability to sell out his event in a matter of days.
Burna Boy’s tickets, on the other hand, retail for a greater price, which could be why they haven’t sold out yet, according to NEWS DIRECT.

@Chydee wrote, “Even Wizkid’s premium tickets have sold out, Burna’s hasn’t. And Wizkid only started three days ago, while Odogwu has been on it. Can anyone explain why? Wizkid is furnace hot, but Burna just came from a Grammy win. I’d expect him to sellout fast too. Why? Is it a marketing problem?”
@Dera wrote, “It’s been 3 months since Burna announced his O2 concert and he hasn’t sold up to half lol man even had to drop his price but UK no sabi he papa always obey your elders, Wizkid sold out in 12 mins! Wizkid is your grand dad in this game. Talmbout burna owns UK.”
@Sulaimon_cule wrote, “Burna Boy’s show at the o2 is yet to sell out despite being announced some months back, and then there’s Wizkid, who sold out in 12 minutes after tickets went on sale today. I know my Goat!”
@Asvpayo tweeted, “Burna is still struggling to sell tickets una, i hope you lots never compare him to Wizkid again bc they’re not mates.”
