Odion Ighalo has chosen three Manchester United greats he would love to have lined up with.
The on-loan striker made his selections from the star-studded team which won the treble in the 1998/99 season.
A boyhood United fan, Ighalo was a child when Sir Alex Ferguson’s side lifted the FA Cup, Premier League and Champions League.
The squad that season included current Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who brought Ighalo to Old Trafford from Shanghai Shenhua in the January window.
But the former Norway striker was not one of the three picks Ighalo made, with the Nigerian instead thinking about which midfielders he would like to have been playing ahead of.
Speaking about the infamous treble-winning season, Ighalo told United’s website : “It was a great year and it’s great for fans to watch the Treble-winning season.

“We’ve not done anything like that since. I’m very happy watching that and I encourage the fans to do so as well.
“Someone can tell you the story, but when you watch it, you see it – that’s so much better than somebody telling you.”
Ighalo also believes the quality of service from United’s midfield in the 1998/99 season would be a forward’s dream – as he made his three selections.
The 30-year-old added: “If you have Ryan Giggs from the left, David Beckham from the right and Paul Scholes in the middle, then what else does a striker need?
“When you see Beckham cross the ball, all you have to do is move your leg or your head and tap it in.
“Giggs, from the left, doing his magic. It was a great team and they did so well.”
Ighalo has made an impressive start with United, scoring four goals and assisting once in his eight appearances.
Solskjaer is reportedly keen to extend his stay at Old Trafford but United are yet to meet Shanghai Shenhua’s £15million asking price.
