A 56-year-old Nigerian man who recently returned from the United States has died of COVID-19 related complications.
The Commissioner for Health, Akin Abayomi, announced on Tuesday that this brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths in Lagos to six.
Abayomi, however, urged Lagos residents to remain alert across communities and obey instructions aimed at containing the spread of COVID-19 infection.
He also urged residents to call 08000CORONA for any COVID-19 related issues.
However, as of the 13th of April 2020, Lagos has recorded 192 cases of coronavirus; with active cases at 120.
Sixty-one people have recovered and discharged, 2 evacuated; 3 transferred and 6 deaths recorded in Lagos.
