in claims they have discovered an already existing drug, which allegedly kills COVID-19 within 48 hours.

According to Daily Mail, researchers at Monash University found out that a single dose of ‘’ stops the SARS-CoV-2 virus growing in cell culture.

Ivermectin is a drug used to treat head lice and is available all over the .

Researchers testing the head lice drug as a possible treatment for COVID-19, have seen promising results in lab studies, but it has not yet been tested on human beings.

Speaking with newsmen about Ivermectin, the Monash Biomedicine Discovery Institute’s, Dr said:

“The research is in its early stages and the drug is yet to be tested on people with COVID-19. There’s so much we don’t know, including the right dose and delivery method for people with coronavirus infection.

“We found that even a single dose could essentially remove all viral RNA (effectively removed all genetic material of the virus) by 48 hours and that even at 24 hours there was really a significant reduction in it.

“Realistically it’s going to be a while before a vaccine is broadly available.”

The scientists said the next move is to determine the correct human dosage and delivery method, to make sure the level used in vitro is safe for humans.

KanyiDaily recalls last month that three Australian scientists from the University of Queensland, also claimed they have created a vaccine that could immunize against Coronavirus COVID-19.
