Lagos State Government has revealed that the participants of the 7th edition of the African Magic Viewers’ Choice Award (AMVCA) held on 14th March, have been exposed to coronavirus COVID-19.
The state Commissioner for Health, Professor Akin Abayomi, who disclosed this on Tuesday, urged all the participants to immediately self-isolate themselves in order to prevent possible further spread of the disease.
He also appealed to the participants to call the state government’s tollfree line – 08000corona – if they notice any of the COVID-19 related symptoms.
The commissioner urged residents of the state to play their part in the efforts to curb the spread of coronavirus by practicing social distancing.
Attendees at the said event are therefo advised to:
1️⃣observe strict self- isolation.

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) had confirmed the first death from coronavirus in the country, with 42 total cases spread across five states and the federal capital territory (FCT).
