Mr Eazi is one of the best-publicised acts we have, and his media presence is top notch. His listeners are always kept abreast with his every move, and this is why international interest in him has grown so rapidly over the last three years.
Well, it looks like he’s looking to widen that scope, as he recently revealed that he would like to collaborate with a K-pop artist this year.
K-pop is a genre of pop music born in South Korea, which dates back to the early ’90s. The genre saw mainstream success when PSY’s addictive “Gangnam Style” took over the world, becoming the first music video to reach one billion views on YouTube.
Since then, a bunch of mainstream artists such as Dua Lipa, Snoop Dogg, Black Eyed Peas and Nicki Minaj have collaborated with some of the biggest K-pop artists working today — from BTS to BLACKPINK — and now Mr Eazi is looking to join that list.
Speaking about one of his main plans for 2019, Mr Eazi told Okay Africa:
“I just said to myself this year, ‘I got to do a song with a K-pop artist,’ I’m obsessed with them, so I’m looking forward to doing that.”
Well, given that he’s already popular internationally, this won’t be too much of a far cry. We have no doubt that he will make a fire song with any K-pop artist or group he chooses to work with, and if he manages to penetrate the Korean market, he’s set for life.
