National Daily just gathered that the English FA has taken the latest decision to further postpone the Premier League and the English Football League until April 30 while extending the season ‘indefinitely’ in response to the coronavirus pandemic.
The above decision will in no little measure ignite celebrations at Anfield amidst their previous fear of declaring the season void, thus dashing their hope for their first English Premier League title after their long 30 years wait.
Similarly, the fight for the European competition places could be reignited. In a likewise vein, the battle for survival against relegation could be heated once again.
A statement from the FA said: ‘The FA’s Rules and Regulations state that “the season shall terminate not later than the 1 June” and “each competition shall, within the limit laid down by the FA, determine the length of its own playing season” National Daily learnt.
‘However, our Board has agreed for this limit to be extended indefinitely for the 2019-20 season in relation to professional football.
Additionally, we’ve collectively agreed that the professional game in England will be further postponed until no earlier than Thursday 30 April.
‘The progress of COVID-19 remains unclear and we can reassure everyone the health and welfare of players, staff and supporters are our priority.’
