Mario Balotelli sure doesn’t disappoint when it comes to making controversial headlines. This time around he drew attention by going live on his Instagram story to film his goal celebration with his team-mates.

The Italian striker scored a superb overhead kick for Olympique Marseille to break the spell which gave his side the lead against Saint-Etienne o Suday and surprisingly went ahead to collect his phone from a cameraman by the pitchside and called on his teammates to join him in making a selfie video which he uploaded on his Instagram page. The post has generated millions of views worldwide.

The video was reposted on his team’s official handle with them calling on EA Sports to include the celebration on FIFA 2019 game edition which He (Balotelli) agreed to by reposting.

This goal is the former Manchester City and Liverpool striker’s fourth in six games since joining Marseille from Nice in January.

He isn’t the only player to take a selfie during a game. Former Roma and Italy striker Francesco Totti took a picture of himself celebrating after scoring against Lazio in the Rome derby in 2015.

Balotelli has been in the news for the wrong reasons severally over the years like; bursting up and fighting teammates in training grounds and breaking curfews. During his spell in Manchester City, he came to blows with the then manager, Roberto Mancini. In April 2012, he received his 4th red card in a season playing against Arsenal while in Manchester City. In a World Cup qualifier against the Czech Republic, the Italian received 2 yellow cards within 4 minutes.
