Olamide is the uncontested king of vernacular rap in Nigeria, but recently we have gotten used to him delivering his bars through the medium of song. Now, with his latest jam, Olamide returns to the heated rap style that set him apart, dropping the solid freestyle, “Buga Small Small”.
On the arresting, Pheelz-produced track, Olamide explains that losing is not in his repertoire, demanding, through his commendable bars, that the industry pay him the respect we all know he deserves.
While Olamide’s relentless hustling has earned him great wealth, the superstar uses his hook to remind us that there are many who aren’t as fortunate with their finances as he is, and for many stars, like himself, they were once just like those people.
The accompanying video is a compilation of ten different boomerang-like clips, oscillating between each other for the song’s duration. The clips give us a glimpse into Olamide’s downtime, as he enjoys dinner with friends and goofs around on the street.
