Manchester United have qualified for the fourth round of the Emirates FA Cup, after edging Wolverhampton Wanderers 1-0 in their third-round replay at Old Trafford on Wednesday, Completesports.com reports.

Juan Mata was the hero for Manchester United as he cleverly chipped John Ruddy in goal for Wolves on 67 minutes after he was played through on goal by Marcus Rashford.

In the 11th minute, Wolves thought they had taken the lead through Pedro Neto but VAR ruled the goal out for a handball in the build-up.

With 10 minutes remaining, United were forced to make a change as Rashford went off injured and was replaced by Jesse Lingard.

Rashford who came on in the second half could now miss this weekend’s Premier League clash between Manchester United and Liverpool at Anfield.

United will now meet the winner between Watford and Tranmere in the fourth round on January 26.

And in another FA Cup third-round replay on Wednesday, Cardiff City beat Carlisle 4-3 to progress.
