South-African Police opened fire on Some members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) who were protesting against President Muhammadu Buhari in Johannesburg on Thursday, October 3, 2019.
KanyiDaily had reported that President Buhari traveled South Africa for a three-day state visit on Wednesday, where he will discuss the welfare of Nigerians and find common ground for building harmonious relations with President Cyril Ramaphosa.
During the visit, the Nnamdi Kanu-led secessionist group staged a protest which was disrupted by the South African Police.
The Police officers chased the protesters, opening fire on them with rubber bullets. Several arrests were made and many of the protesters were injured.
Meanwhile, IPOB has released a list of members shot by the South-African Police during their protest and the names include the following;
- Okoro Ezenwa
- Chimezie Onukwuwe
- Chidebere Samson
- Denis Agunwa Aneto
- Emeka Anyaigbo.
- Nworah Victor Tochukwu
Two other members, Magnus Agor and Okaka Ikechukwu are currently hospitalized after suffering dislocations while attempting to escape from the South-African Police.
