Salisu Yusuf who was in charge of the team before he was caught on camera taking cash from men posing as football agents,an action that earned him a year ban, prompting the Nigeria Football Federation to draft Coach Imama Amapakabo to take over the side.

However,a controversial press release on Thursday from the Director Communication of the federation,Ademola Olajire suggesting what might have been a reinstatement of  Coach Salisu Yusuf.

“the Nigeria Football Federation has noted that the Chief Coach of the Super Eagles, Salisu Yusuf has now fully served the one –year suspension clamped on him last year.

The Federation thanked Coach Imama Amapakabo for his sterling efforts while in charge of the U23 National Team in the absence of the suspended Yusuf, and for eventually seeing to the team’s qualification for the U23 AFCON.”The statement added.

Some prominent stakeholders saw the action as a slap to the over 180 million Nigerians, took to a popular Sports Forum NSM to vent their anger.

“Is a shame and slap to over 180 million people, how can three men be runing football of Nigeria as a betting company, calling Nigerians fools.”

“We will expose the evil that is going on at the glasshouse.”

How can someone who suffered to take his team to Sudan, camped for three weeks and still defeated the his foes without a kobo from the NFF be ask to go like that in less that 48 hours after that sweet victory,no estacode,no match winning bonus.”

“Why on earth will Salisu the egunje(bribe taking) exponent come from nowhere to take over a team he knows nothing about.”
