A few months ago, Skepta dropped his fantastic 13-track album, Ignorance Is Bliss. Since the album’s release, he’s dropped some engaging videos for a few solid tracks, with the latest being a clip for another standout, “Love Me Not“, featuring Cheb Rabi & B Live.
On the impressive, self-produced “Love Me Not”, Skepta deals with the complexities of modern love. The track opens with a phone call from Skepta’s love interest, with her announcing: “I’m sick of you and I’m sick of your lies”.
Following this, he spits bars against an energetic beat, where he states his stance on love, explaining the reasons behind his hesitance to commit. The song then launches into the fantastic chorus handled by Cheb Rabi.
For the accompanying video, Skepta performs the song whole manoeuvring a lit house party. He also gives a nod to the thriving UK grime scene, with cameos from MC Bushkin, Mighty Moe, Octavian, Chip and many more.
