Minister of Sports John Enoh has congratulated Nigeria’s Flamingos for their impressive win against New Zealand, at the FIFA U-17 women’s World Cup on Wednesday.
The Flamingos got their Group A campaign off to a perfect start with a 4-1 win against the Oceanian team.
Both teams went into half time with the Flamingos 3-0 ahead.
Reacting to the win, Enoh wrote on X:”Congratulations to our dear U-17 Women’s National Football Team, the Flamingos, on their impressive 4-1 victory over New Zealand, the opening match of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.”
The Flamingos Will Be back in action on Saturday when they will take on debutant Ecuador on Saturday.
The Ecuadorians also began their campaign with a win thanks to a 2-0 victory against hosts Dominican Republic.
