The Afrobeats sensation, introduced by host Trevor Noah, took the stage with an electrifying rendition of his hit song ‘Sittin’ On Top of The World,’ featuring special guests Brandy and 21 Savage.
This historic moment marked the first live performance by an Afrobeats star on the esteemed Grammy stage.
Burna Boy’s vibrant showcase, characterized by rhythmic talking drums and a transition from “E no go tire me” to “City Boys,” showcased his cultural flair.
Dressed in a red rhinestone-adorned quilted jacket, matching gray pants, and a snapback, Burna Boy exuded confidence as he celebrated Nigerian heritage.
The performance seamlessly transitioned from “City Boys” to the iconic “Sittin’ On Top of The World,” with Brandy joining the stage to deliver smooth vocals in a black trench coat and striking scarlet boots.
21 Savage, featured in the remix, made his Grammy performance debut in an all-red ensemble, adding a dynamic rap element to the collaboration.
Burna Boy’s Grammy performance marked a historic moment for African music, leaving a lasting impression on the global stage.
Burna Boy was nominated for four Grammys: best African music performance (“City Boys”), best global music album (I Told Them…), best global music performance (“Alone”) and best melodic rap performance (“Sittin’ on Top of the World” with 21 Savage).
