Nigerian music star, Davido has congratulated South African singer, Tyla for winning the inaugural Best African Music Performance category at the 66th Grammy Awards.

Tyla’s acclaimed song, ‘Water,’ triumphed over competitors such as ‘Amapiano’ by Asake and Olamide, ‘City Boys’ by Burna Boy, ‘Unavailable’ by Davido featuring Musa Keys, and ‘Rush’ by Ayra Starr.

Despite Davido not clinching any of his three nominations, including ‘Unavailable’ in the same category, he took to Twitter early Monday to express his delight.

In his tweet, the singer wrote, “Congratulations on your win @Tyllaaaaaaa! Big One for Africa! Keep soaring!”
