A few months ago, Davido‘s monster hit, “Fall” became the first Nigerian music video to reach 100 million views on YouTube. “Fall” was quickly followed by Yemi Alade’s “Johnny”, and then Sinach’s “Way Maker”. Now, Tekno‘s “Pana” has joined that elite club.
Tekno’s “Pana” was a game-changing hit for the afropop star, becoming the undisputed song of 2016. The success of the track led Tekno to being named one of Billboard‘s artists to watch, as well as making him one of that year’s most searched Nigerian musicians on YouTube.
The party-starter is definitely Tekno’s magnum opus, making it very easy to see why it achieved this impressive feat. We’re excited to see which Nigerian music video will be the next to join the ‘100 million views’ club. Right now, our money is on Runtown’s “Mad Over You”.
