Super Eagles midfielder Frank Onyeka was in action for Brentford who secured a 2-1 win over Arsenal in a pre-season friendly on Wednesday afternoon at The Gunners’ training ground.
Heading into the game Arsenal had won all their four pre-season fixtures with the 4-0 win against Chelsea the pick of the bunch.
But their impressive run was halted as Onyeka and his Brentford teammates came out victorious. Onyeka was in action for 90 minutes.
Bryan Mbeumo scored the first goal before Eddie Nketiah got one back for the home side.
Ryan Trevitt then secured the win with a goal just before half-time.
Brentford manager, Thomas Frank, rotated his squad following on from Tuesday’s 1-0 win over Brighton on the south coast. Goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha made his first appearance since joining on a free transfer over the summer.

It took just 10 minutes for Brentford as Mbeumo controlled a pass before clipping the ball into the bottom left corner.
With quarter of an hour gone, Brentford could have been two up after Rico Henry bursted into the left side of the box and drilling a cross into the middle.
It took several deflections on its way through but no Brentford player could turn it home.
Arsenal equalized thanks to Nketiah who cut inside from the left and dribbled past several defenders, faked to go one side, before blasting a shot into the bottom left corner.
Just on the stroke of half-time, Trevitt got what would prove to be the winner. Lewis-Potter played the ball behind the Arsenal defence, Trevitt took one touch on his right foot before sweeping it home with his left.
Arsenal will be in action again on Saturday, 30 July, when they will face Sevilla in the Emirates Cup.
Onyeka’s Brentford will also play on Saturday against Real Betis in another pre-season.
