The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), and the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, have commiserated with renowned musician, King Sunny Ade, over the death of his wife, Risikat Adegeye.
Risikat, who was a member of the sixth Lagos State House of Assembly, died on Tuesday in Lagos after a brief illness.
Buhari’s condolence message was contained in a statement on Wednesday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, titled, ‘President Buhari condoles with King Sunny Ade, Lagos State Government over passing of Hon. Risikat Ajoke Adegeye.’
The statement added, “The President condoles with the Lagos State Government, House of Assembly members, her friends and political associates, urging trust in God at this very difficult time.”
Likewise, Tinubu in a statement by his media office said, “Hon. Adegeye was a dutiful wife and mother. She was also a prominent grass-roots politician in Lagos who worked fervently for her Amuwo-Odofin Constituency.
“I commiserate with our renowned King Sunny Ade, their children and other family members. I mourn with the people of Amuwo-Odofin… the Lagos State Government, the state House of Assembly members, Adegeye’s friends and political associates.”
