The new account (@ASRomaPidgin) intends to help foster better communication between the European club and fans in Nigeria. What’s more, it’s being run out of Lagos – which means we shouldn’t be expecting anything less than the vibrant lingua franca in the city.
We’ve seen football clubs open social media accounts in various languages – Arabic, Italian, Spanish, French, and even Chinese – but AS Roma is the first major European football club to create an official social media profile specifically to communicate directly with followers in Nigeria.
