Biggest Container Vessel To Ever Come To Nigeria Berths At Onne Port In Rivers State [Photos]

The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has announced successful berthing of the biggest container vessel to ever call at any Nigerian port.

The Maerskline Stardelhorn vessel with Length overall of 300 metres, width of 48 metres was received at the Federal Ocean Terminal (FOT), Onne in Rivers State at 4:20 p.m. on Saturday.

A statement issued on Twitter by the NPA said the vessel, which has a capacity of 9,971(TEUs), is a flagship from Singapore.

“The Nigerian Ports Authority is pleased to announce the successful berthing of the biggest Container vessel to ever call at any Nigerian port.

“The Maerskline Stardelhorn vessel with Length overall of 300 metres, width of 48 metres was received at the Federal Ocean Terminal (FOT), Onne in Rivers State at 1620 hours on Saturday, August 15, 2020.

“The vessel, which has a capacity of 9,971(TEUs) is a flagship from Singapore,” the statement reads.

Meanwhile, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) has revealed that Nigeria earned about N289.3 billion from exporting top 10 agricultural produce between April 2019 and March 2020.
