Wilfred Ndidi has issued a rallying call to his Leicester City team-mates as they bid to secure a place in the UEFA Champions League next season, Completesports.com reports.

The Foxes , who currently occupy third position in the table were held to a 1-1 draw in their last Premier League fixture at the Vicarage Road last Saturday.

Left-back Ben Chilwell opened scoring for Leicester with a stunning goal from the outside the box on the dot of 90 minutes, while Craig Dawson equalised for the hosts deep into stoppage time with another sublime strike.

Fourth-placed Chelsea put pressure on Brendan Rodgers’ men , coming behind to beat Aston Villa 2-1 on Sunday, reducing the gap between them and the Foxes to three points.

With Liverpool and Manchester City far above their rivals, the race for the two remaining Champions League tickets is expected to gown the wire and Ndidi has challenged his team-mates to give their all in the remaining games.

“It will be a plus to us as players, in our careers, if we can play in the Champions League. But it is something we have to work for,” Ndidi told Football daily in a short  video interview.

“It is not about what we have done in past matches. These eight games remaining, it is important for us to actually fight hard and pick the Champions League ticket.

“It is something we have to work for, we have to stay there. If we do our best and get the points, then we will get there.”

Leicester City will look to boost their top four hopes when they host Brighton&Hove Albion at the King Power Stadium later today.

Ndidi has scored twice in 24 league appearances for Leicester City this season.
