The United States death toll climbed to over 85,000, on Thursday and there over 1.5 million confirmed cases to report. New York, the nation’s epicenter, reports 350,582 infections and 27,282 deaths. New Jersey, which has been America’s second biggest hot spot for awhile, now has 142,079 confirmed cases and 9,702 deaths.
Outside of NY and NJ, the US states with the most confirmed cases are:
- Illinois: 83,021 confirmed cases; 3,601 deaths.
- Massachusetts: 79,332 confirmed cases; 5,141 deaths.
- California: 71,081 confirmed cases; 2,882 deaths.
- Pennsylvania: 61,892 confirmed cases; 4,016 deaths.
- Michigan: 48,021 confirmed cases; 4,674 deaths.
There are now over 4.4 million cases of COVID-19 across the globe, according to Worldometer. The world inches closer to reaching another grim milestone of 300,000 world deaths (currently 297,729).
Outside of the US, the countries with the most confirmed cases are:
- Spain: 269,520 confirmed cases; 26,920 deaths.
- Russia: 242,271 confirmed cases; 2,212 deaths.
- UK: 229,705 confirmed cases; 33,186 deaths.
- Italy: 221,216 confirmed cases; 30,911 deaths.
- Brazil: 179,457 confirmed cases; 12,531 deaths.
