Zidane Reappointed As Real Madrid Manager 10 Months After Resignation

Zinedine Zidane has been reappointed as Real Madrid head coach 10 months after stepping down from the position reports Completesports.com.

The Former France captain replaces Santiago Solari, who has paid the price for humbling defeats to Barcelona and Ajax, in the Copa Del Rey and the UEFA Champions League.

Zidane won nine trophies (three UEFA Champions League, two Club World Cup title, two UEFA Super Cups, one La Liga title and one Spanish Super Cup) with Real Madrid before he stepped down as manager of the Los Blancos.

“The Real Madrid board of directors, which met today,( Monday 11 March 2019) and has decided to terminate Santiago Solari’s contract as first-team coach, whilst Real Madrid have offered him the opportunity to remain at the club,” Real Madrid said in a statement on Monday.

“Real Madrid wish to thank Solari for his work, commitment, and the loyalty that he has always displayed towards this club, which is his home.”

“The board of directors also agreed on the appointment of Zinedine Zidane as head coach of Real Madrid with immediate effect for the remainder of the season and the next three campaigns, until 30 June 2022.”
