Shanghai Shenhua sporting director, Zhou Jun, says Nigeria forward Odion Ighalo would be an ideal signing for Manchester United, Completesports.com reports.

Ighalo, 30, linked up with the Red Devils from Shanghai Shenhua on a six-month loan deal on transfer deadline day.

The former Watford striker has entered the final month of his loan deal at Old Trafford and could be recalled by Shanghai Shenhua for the new Chinese Super League season now due to start in June or July.

United are open to keeping Ighalo, but a £20m fee reportedly demanded by Shanghai Shenhua could be a stumble block.

“Realistically, Ighalo suits Manchester United. But many thing are now uncertain due to Covid-19. Would Manchester United be willing to spend? Would their bid reach our expectation?”, Jun was quoted by m.ttplus.cn.

Ighalo has scored four goals in eight appearances for United.
